Dine N' Dish Review: Frost Me Sweet
More than just a cupcake!
Most people think that Frost Me Sweet Bakery only serves delicious cupcakes and desserts. Others might think Frost Me Sweet only creates works of art in the form of wedding cakes. In case you haven’t heard, Frost Me Sweet serves up a delicious assortment of appetizers, soups, sandwiches, burgers, as well as an array of specialty items you won’t find anywhere else in the Tri-Cities.
Sourdough Bread Loaf
This loaf of sourdough was perfectly toasted and had the perfect amount of melted parmesan cheese. It was cut so that you can easily pull a small piece and dunk them in either the pesto balsamic or put a schmear of garlic butter. I had never eaten this before and I will order this loaf of goodness the next time I’m in. It was absolutely delicious.
Vegetarian Tortilla Soup
The vegetarian tortilla soup is homemade and very flavorful. It is rich and delicious topped with very unique tortilla strips that I’ve never had before. I could have very easily taken down a couple bowls of this and would have been completely happy.
Italian
The Italian is a delicious approximation of a pizza in the form of a panini. It has pepperoni, salami, prosciutto, mozzarella, and marinara sauce. I had the option of choosing white, wheat, or focaccia bread so I opted for the focaccia. If you have a craving for a perfect blend of Italian meats and gooey mozzarella cheese, this is your sandwich.
Pirate’s Booty
The Pirate’s Booty is a beautiful creation made of a light, flakey crust, crab, shrimp, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese. Frost Me Sweet doesn’t skimp on the crab and shrimp either. This is a light, but filling meal I would recommend to anyone who is a seafood lover.
The Player’s Club
The Player’s Club is a sandwich I will have no problem ordering again and again. This sandwich looks like it could have been made the day after Thanksgiving at your parents’ house. This Club has thick slices of turkey, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It was delicious!
Prime Time
The Prime Time is a panini made with a thick slice of slow roasted prime rib topped with caramelized onion and melted swiss cheese. This is a serious sandwich that will knock your socks off.
French Toast Bread Pudding
Obviously we had to top off lunch with a dessert. Not doing so would have been a crime. So we decided on the French Toast Bread Pudding. All I’m going to say is: “Warm and Gooey”. Go get some and you’ll see what I mean.
Now something you need to keep in mind is we all ordered half sandwiches. If you have a hearty appetite or don’t feel like cooking dinner, I would recommend the full sandwich in a heartbeat.
Now for a little bonus knowledge. Frost Me Sweet offers what they call The Jackpot. You can get either a half or full sandwich, choice of drink, your choice of The Bistro, their awesome Tuna Melt, the Italian, Savely’s Sweetie, The Woodland, or their Gourmet Grilled Cheese, choice of side, and a dessert! All for a couple bucks more than what you would pay or a combo meal at a fast food joint. You CAN NOT beat this. And since we didn’t eat any of these sandwiches listed in The Jackpot, it means I get to go back and give these a whirl too. I love my work. :)
So to sum this up
There are plenty of options for lunch in the area surrounding Frost Me Sweet. If you’re looking for a place that offers delicious, homemade food at a great price and an even better value, you should visit Frost Me Sweet. Megan and her crew put in a great amount of time, effort, and pride to ensure they deliver a delicious meal.
